Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that replaces archwires, brackets, and rubber bands with a series of clear, nearly invisible plastic aligners.
The aligners fit snugly over your teeth and place gradual pressure on them. Over time, that pressure moves your teeth into the optimal position, improving your smile’s appearance and oral health.
Invisalign aligners are made of SmartTrack® — a thermoplastic free of all toxins, like BPS, latex, and BPA. The product’s unique makeup makes treatment safe for anyone, including pregnant women and people with allergies.
Dr. Campbell uses Invisalign to correct mild and moderate alignment issues, including:
You might also benefit from orthodontic treatment with Invisalign if you have overlapping or crooked teeth.
Before starting treatment with Invisalign, Dr. Campbell conducts an oral exam and takes oral X-rays. He assesses the X-rays to determine the position of your teeth and jaw.
Afterward, Dr. Campbell takes digital scans of your mouth and uploads them to a computer program. He uses your scans to develop a treatment blueprint that maps the movements of your teeth and jaw.
After explaining the treatment process and approving the plan, he sends your scans to a dental laboratory. The technicians at the lab use your scans to design and manufacture a series of custom oral aligners that fit your mouth perfectly.
When the laboratory completes the aligners, you return to Sunrise Smile Design. Dr. Campbell has you try them on, makes adjustments as necessary, and provides care instructions. While participating in Invisalign treatment, you wear the aligners 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to eat or brush and floss.
Every one or two weeks, you return to Sunrise Smile Design and change into a new pair of aligners. When you complete treatment, you transition to a retainer to prevent your teeth from moving out of position.
The length of time Invisalign takes depends on your commitment to Dr. Campbell’s care plan and the alignment issues treated. Most people achieve a more balanced smile in 6-12* months, but it can take longer.
To ensure the process goes smoothly, attend each follow-up appointment and wear the aligners as prescribed.
